May 07, 2018  Avengers: Infinity War might've pleased audiences everywhere, but if you're a fan of the Incredible Hulk, the film may have been a bit frustrating to watch. Well, we might as well get this. Jul 25, 2017  Thor: Ragnarok filmmaker Taika Waititi has talked about the Hulk's (Mark Ruffalo) surprising baby speech ability in the film, explaining what drove him to give the character the ability to speak a bit better. Joining his fellow Avenger, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), as he tries to save Asgard from total doom in the hands of Hela (Cate Blanchett), the raging green monster appears to have developed. The Hulk's Role in Avengers: Infinity War is Really Confusing. The Avengers are back in the Infinity War trailer with their typical heroism, although there's one character whose arc is incredibly confusing: Bruce Banner's. The last time audiences saw the Hulk was at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) were entirely shot on digital IMAX cameras, which are specially customized versions of the ARRI Alexa 65 optimized for IMAX. Captain America: Civil War (2016) was the first film to incorporate the new cameras for its airport fight sequence.

Infinity Wars is a 2018 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. The storyline is a follow-up to the 'Infinity Countdown' storyline.

Premise[edit]

The premise involves the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe deal with the outcome of the search for the Infinity Gems.[1]

Spinning-out from Infinity Wars #3, the 'Infinity Warps' had Requiem had gathered the Infinity Stones and uses them in a more creative fashion, to reduce the universe’s lifeforms in half. However, the result is unintended: only the reality around the heroes of Earth is warped and transported inside Soulworld where Devondra, a cosmic entity dwelling at the heart of the Soul Gem, is waiting to feed.[2]

Plot[edit]

Loki arrives at a library at Omnipotence City where he finds that none of the stories there list Loki as being a hero. As he suspects that someone is behind this, the tomekeeper Flowa directs him to a book that talks about the different universes. Unfortunately, the pages are torn as Flowa informs Loki about the God Quarry which is protected by a Coven. Loki enlists Flowa's help to visit the God Quarry. Meanwhile, Adam Warlock senses the corruption of the Soul World and enlists Doctor Strange to help deal with the corruption in Soulworld. During the travel while dealing with a Souleater, it is revealed that Doctor Strange has the Time Infinity Stone as Doctor Strange tries to get Adam Warlock to give up the Soul Infinity Gem. Before leaving, Adam Warlock warns Doctor Strange that Kang the Conqueror is not the only person looking for the Infinity Gems. Meanwhile on Chitauri Prime, Thanos is preparing to rally the Chitauri to help rally the Infinity Gems. Just then, a shadowy figure appears behind Thanos and stabs him with their sword. Recognizing the identity of the female from her sword, Thanos attacks the figure who proceeds to behead Thanos. Afterwards, she releases a poisonous gas from her suit which he uses on the Chitauri armada. While destroying Thanos' gauntlet, the figure claims that her future is blank as the past is dead.[3]

Gamora approaches Star-Lord (who is in possession of the Power Infinity Stone), Rocket Raccoon, and Groot at Cebulski's bar at Knowhere as Star-Lord is unable to get Gamora to return to the Guardians of the Galaxy. Meanwhile in Manhattan, a cyclist is saved by Adam Warlock during a time freeze when he, Drax the Destroyer, and Iron Lad show up. Doctor Strange gathers Star-Lord, Adam Warlock, Black Widow's clone, Captain Marvel, and Turk Barrett (who has Bullseye, Sandman, Spot, Tombstone, and Typhoid Mary in his company) in Central Park where Doctor Strange discovers that Thanos is dead. Loki and Flowa arrive at the God's Quarry where the Coven that guards it bursts into flames as they declare that the end of infinity is here. They then witness a Loki wielding Mjolnir and wielding Infinity Gems emerging from a portal. Before being drawn back into his reality and being killed by a Souleater, the alternate Loki mentions to Loki in his dying breath that he won't be able to breach the reality without the Infinity Gems or have any hopes in defeating Devondra and Requiem. Turk discovers that the Power Gem that Star-Lord has is fake as the villains accompanying him start a fight. When Iron Man and Thor arrive to break up the fight, Iron Man is struck by purple lightning as the mysterious assailant that killed Thanos arrives demanding the Infinity Gems. After throwing Thanos' head towards the Infinity Watch and Drax, the assailant identifies herself as Requiem. During the fight, Rocket Raccoon shoots off Requiem's mask and they discover that it's actually Gamora. When Star-Lord tries to reason with Gamora, Doctor Strange warns him that the Power Gem is on the hilt of her sword. As Star-Lord states that he won't kill her, Gamora sorrowfully claims that nothing ever dies and impales Star-Lord with her sword.[4]

In the distant past, Gamora talks to Thanos about his mortality. In the recent past after killing her father, Gamora can still hear his voice. Back in the present, Doctor Strange uses the Time Gem to heal Star-Lord and teleports Turk Barrett to another dimension where Doctor Strange persuades Turk to hand him the Mind Gem. The others continue their fight with Gamora who is then plagued by an apparition of Thanos. Captain Marvel tries to take Gamora down only for her to steal the Reality Gem from her where she fools the Avengers into thinking that Gamora and Captain Marvel are the other person. Captain America sees the deception after Doctor Strange restrains the fake Captain Marvel. After using the Reality Gem to partially fuse Captain America and Doctor Strange to get the Mind Gem and the Time Gem, Gamora beheads Adam Warlock. Then she uses the Time Gem to freeze time so that she can steal the Space Gem from Black Widow before claiming the Soul Gem. A hesitant Gamora then opens the portal to Soul World where she merges with her elderly counterpart. As Gamora plans to rebalance the Soul Gem so that Devondra can feed, Loki arrives with Flowa as he offers his counsel to Gamora.[5]

Using the Mind Gem, Gamora reads Loki's mind and learns of his visit to the God's Quarry. She sets out to investigate the boundary at the Quarry of Creation which she couldn't see beyond the God's Quarry. To neutralize any opposition and to feed Devondra, Gamora traps the Soul World's inhabitants in a pocket dimension called Warp World. This pocket dimension merged some of the characters into one character. Iron Man and Thor are merged into Iron Hammer, Captain America and Doctor Strange are merged into Soldier Supreme, Scarlet Witch and X-23 are merged into Weapon Hex, Spider-Man and Moon Knight are merged into Arachknight, and Black Panther and Ghost Rider are merged into Ghost Panther. Gamora travels with Flowa to the God's Quarry and begins to dig into the Quarry of Creation. It was revealed that Gamora has trapped Loki in the Soul Gem as he tries to enlist a hybrid of Wolverine and Emma Frost called Diamond Patch to find Adam Warlock and prevent the end of the world and Warp World.[6]

Diamond Patch has deduced that Gamora has copied the real world and that a set of Infinity Gems exists somewhere in Soul World. He then sends a message in a bottle to a future Wolverine that will one day wield the Phoenix Force who travels back in time to give them the Power Gem. This enables Diamond Patch to split back into Wolverine and Emma Frost. In an unnamed adjacent reality, the Moondragon and Phylla-Vell fail to defeat Gamora and flee to Earth-616. Emma Frost then takes Loki throughout Warp World to recruit those who would wield an Infinity Gem. Loki and Emma Frost find their candidates after splitting Ms. Kang back into Ms. Marvel and Kang the Conqueror and splitting Little Monster back into Hulk and Ant-Man. With this team assembled, they find Adam Warlock and suggest they exit the Soul World only for Adam Warlock to declare that they need to defeat Devondra first. This causes them to round up Arachknight, Ghost Panther, Green Widow (a combination of Black Widow and She-Hulk), Iron Hammer, Man-Thing-Thang-Thoom (a combination of Man-Thing and Fin Fang Foom), Moon Squirrel (a combination of Moon Girl and Squirrel Girl) and Tippysaurus (a combination of Tippy Toe and Devil Dinosaur), Soldier Supreme, Weapon Hex, and Fantastic Two members Mister Invisible (a combination of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman) and Hot Rocks (a combination of Human Torch and Thing) as well as a saxophone-playing version of Drax the Destroyer. Back in the real world, Gamora has found an impenetrable barrier beneath the God's Quarry. After an attempt to breach out of Earth-616, she is confronted by the Council of Watchers.[7]

Gamora has been unsuccessfully using the Infinity Blade to cut through the barrier at the God's Quarry while being watched by the Council of Watchers. She states that nothing gets out unless she wants to and when Devondra is done devouring what's inside. In the Soul Gem, Loki's group and the warped heroes are fighting Devondra as Adam Warlock and Soldier Supreme arrive with the latter stating that he doesn't want to be unmade. Adam Warlock states that if they can defeat Devondra, Warp World will still exist. Though Loki's group will have to use the Infinity Gems to confront Gamora outside. As Loki's group traverses through the wastelands and they find a younger Gamora playing with stones, Emma Frost and Ms. Marvel talk her and learned that she is in a safe place that he doesn't want her to leave. After persuading the younger Gamora to lend them the Infinity Gems, it is divided among them. Emma gets the Power Gem, Hulk gets the Space Gem, Ant-Man gets the Time Gem, Kang the Conqueror gets the Reality Gem, Loki gets the Soul Gem, and Ms. Marvel gets the Mind Gem. Loki opens a portal that leads out of Warp World. Back in the real world, Flowa learns that a portal is opening and tells Gamora as they witness the versions of Phylla-Vel and Moondragon from an adjacent universe come through to attack Gamora for destroying their universe. As Gamora deflects the attacks, Loki's group appears behind her. When Gamora swings the Infinity Blade towards her, Emma Frost turns to diamond as it shatters against her diamond skin giving Ms. Marvel the opportunity to remove the Power Gem from the broken weapon. Upon grabbing Gamora, Hulk uses the Space Stone to fly away and then punches Gamora enough to ricochet across the walls of the God's Quarry. When Gamora states that she must remake the universe, Kang the Conqueror confronts her and summons countless duplicates of his incarnations using the Reality Gem. As she fights Kang the Conqueror's army, Gamora claims that she will remake the universe once Devondra is done devouring the old one so that there would be no suffering. During this time, Ant-Man takes the opportunity to snatch the Reality and Space Gems before shrinking away. Loki then grabs some rocks on the ground and starts replacing the reclaimed Infinity Gems before the alternate Phylla-Vel and Moondragon can finish off Gamora. After teleporting them away, Loki tells Kang the Conqueror and Emma Frost that he now has the Infinity Gems. As Loki breaks down the barrier, Flowa is surprised with what she saw and writes it down. When Loki finds himself in another universe, he finds that the Infinity Gems he has doesn't work here. He then sees a group of Celestials floating around as he calls them the 'puppet masters.' Inside Warp World, Soldier Supreme notices that Devondra keeps regenerating as Adam Warlock finds that Gamora and the alternate Phylla-Vel and Moondragon are now in the Soul Gem. Elsewhere in the Soul Gem, Art Douglas drives on a wooden road with his wife Yvette as he tells her that he was having visions of total destruction. They crash into a tree where Art discovers that it has a human face and quoting 'I am Peet.' It then changes into a hybrid of Star-Lord and Groot called Peet. Art is grabbed by Peet and flies away as he promises Yvette that he will return.[8]

In the other universe, Loki confronts the Celestials as they point him to a mirror surface so that he can see his future. Disenchanted after what he saw, Loki returns to his universe and gives the Gems back to his former teammates before leaving with Flowa on the Sklidbadnir stating that he is going to reflect on his string of bad luck like his bad encounter with Wolverine and the ripped pages of Flowa's tomes. Loki and Flowa then leave for Omnipotence City. Back in Soul World, Soldier Supreme beats up Gamora while demanding the information on how to defeat Devondra. Gamora states that there is no defeating Devondra and that the universe will be in entropy without the Infinity Gems. Peet arrives with Art Douglas as Peet saves Gamora after Solder Supreme punched her towards Devondra's mouth. The former members of Loki's group then arrives as Ms. Marvel gives him the Soul Gem as Gamora states that Devondra can't be defeated in the Soul Gem. After some talking with Soldier Supreme, Adam Warlock plans to copy the souls in Warp World in order to bring them and Devondra into the real world as Hulk punches Devondra into the hole leading to the real world. Adam Warlock returns the Guardians of the Galaxy to their normal state while separating Drax's Destroyer half from his Arthur Douglas half. Once the copies are made with the help of the Infinity Gems, Emma Frost begins to wipe the memories of the incident to avoid unrest as Drax meets the alternate version of his daughter. Drax the Destroyer and Arthur Douglas work together to split the portal into two portals and hold it open while the others enter the portals. The Infinity Gems start to bore through the dimensions until Devondra's universe collapses. Everyone else awakens in Egypt. Gamora sees the Infinity Gems as she is confronted by the alternate Phylla-Vell and Moondragon. Star-Lord intervenes and persuades them to spare Gamora. When most of those present start to go for the Infinity Gems, Adam Warlock grabs the Time Gem, freezes time, and states that the Infinity Gems must decide the outcome. After time resumes, Star-Lord notices that Gamora is gone as Adam Warlock sent her to a location so that she can redeem herself. Everyone leaves Egypt as Star-Lord laments about Drax the Destroyer's sacrifice. Back in Warp World, Arthur is living happily with Yvette as they see a newspaper about the formation of the Avengers/Defenders. At their citadel, its members Iron Hammer, Soldier Supreme, and Weapon Hex are holding a press conference announcing the formation of their team to a cheering crowd. In a desert somewhere, Gamora finds a cocoon and tears it open to find a younger version of Magus inside as she has a brief vision of a sneering Thanos. As they leave together, Magus stated to Gamora that he was sent by a 'friend.' In Omnipotence City, Flowa has finished writing in her tome while leaving some pages blank just in case of some time-travel elements. When Loki offers Flowa to accompany him on his next quest to find an answer to Adam Warlock's actions, she declines and places the book she has written on a shelf. In a desert somewhere, Adam Warlock is staring at the stars and draws a symbol in the sand claiming that a part of him is missing.[9]
